01Before you begin

Concept · 2 min

Build the foundations for consistent, on-brand content.

Oct 12, 2026 · @Bonnie Faxen

Your first week is about getting the basics in place for consistent, on-brand content. That means a brand identity, your product catalogue, a roster of talents, and a set of standard scenes. You'll also try every tool at least once. Work through the steps in order, at your own pace. You can spread them over a few days or do them all in one sitting; each step builds on the one before.

The work you do this week gets reused in every look you make afterwards. Building it up front is what keeps your imagery consistent from one collection to the next.

Step Focus You'll finish with
1 Brand and workspaces A written brand identity and one workspace per brand or collection
2 Products Your catalogue imported, with images
3 Talents 4–8 on-brand talents you can reuse
4 Scenes 3–6 standard scenes for your usual shots
5 Tools A first look, product shot, video clip and Iris chat

If you're new to Lumoo, read Getting Started with Lumoo first. If a menu item mentioned here is missing, your plan may not include that feature. Some steps can only be done by an Org Admin; these are marked.

02Step 1: Set your brand identity and workspaces

Concept · 2 min

Your brand identity is the most important thing to set up. It shapes every image Lumoo makes, in every workspace.

Write your brand identity (Org Admin)

  • In the organization sidebar, click Brand Identity.
  • Describe your visual style in up to 2,000 characters. Cover:
    • Mood and art direction, for example "Scandinavian minimalism, calm and understated".
    • Light: soft daylight, hard studio flash, golden hour.
    • Colour palette: muted neutrals, saturated brights, a signature colour.
    • Casting: the ages, attitudes and range of people you show.
    • What to avoid: props, poses or looks that are off-brand.
  • Save. You can refine it at any time as you see results.

Set up your workspaces

Create one workspace for each brand, line or collection you produce content for, for example "SS27 Womenswear". On the Workspaces page, click Create workspace.

  • Make a workspace Private if only some people should see it. Then add those people under Settings → Members.
  • Under Settings → AI Settings, you can choose default models and turn on Watermark downloads for that workspace.

Invite your team (Org Admin)

Go to Users and click Invite User for each teammate. Give Org Admin only to people who will manage billing, users and brand identity. Invitations expire after 7 days.

03Step 2: Upload your existing products

Concept · 2 min

With your catalogue in Lumoo, your products are ready to pick as garments in Virtual Try-On, or as sketches in Sketch to Product. The catalogue lives at organization level, so every workspace can use it.

Prepare your product file

Export a CSV or TSV file from your product system or spreadsheet, with one row per product. Lumoo detects these columns automatically:

Column Required Notes
Article Number Yes Your unique product code
Product Name No
Colorway No
Image No An image URL, or the file name of an image you'll upload
Collection, Gender, Main Group, Sub Group, Category No Become filters, so fill in what you have

The filter columns matter. They let you find "all SS27 outerwear" in seconds, and they power bulk generation.

Import it

  • In the organization sidebar, click Products, then Import Data.
  • Upload your file and check the columns Lumoo matched.
  • For each image, choose its type: Product image for a photo or packshot, or Design sketch for a drawing.
  • If your Image column holds file names, upload the image files or a ZIP of them so Lumoo can match them.
  • Click Import N Products.

Add your other assets

Other images you want to reuse, such as mood boards, past campaign shots or logos, go in Assets.

  • Assets in a workspace: for that workspace only.
  • Organisation Assets: shared across all workspaces.

Click Import Assets to upload images or a ZIP. Reference images must be JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, at least 512 × 512 pixels and under 30 MB.

04Step 3: Build your talent roster

Concept · 2 min

A talent roster is your brand's fixed cast of AI models. Reusing the same faces across collections makes your imagery feel like one brand, not a stock library. Aim for 4–8 talents to start.

Plan your cast first

Before you generate anything, write a short brief for each talent. A small table like this helps:

Talent Who they are Use them for
e.g. Ana Late 20s, short dark hair, freckles, calm expression Core womenswear, hero shots
e.g. Leo Mid 30s, beard, athletic build Menswear, outerwear

Cover the range your customers expect, such as ages, body types, skin tones and attitudes. Keep each talent clearly different from the others.

Create each talent

  • Open Talents and click +.
  • Choose a Generation Type:
    • New Face: paste your brief into Description. Include age, features, skin tone, hair and expression. The more specific you are, the more consistent the result.
    • Digital Twin: upload a photo of a real person to recreate them. Use this for brand ambassadors or in-house models, and only with their consent.
    • Similar Look: upload an inspiration photo to get a similar, but new, person.
  • Click Generate.

Refine until they're right

  • Not quite there? Open the talent and use Edit to adjust details, or Quick Edit to fix a small area.
  • Keep your favourite version live with Set as Current.
  • Rename each talent with its roster name (for example "Ana – core womenswear") so your team can find it in the Talent Library.
  • Delete the talents you won't use, so the library stays clean.

05Step 4: Create your standard scenes

Concept · 2 min

A scene is a background plus a pose. Your talents and garments are placed into it. A small set of standard scenes is like a studio setup: you can reuse it for every collection.

Pick your 3–6 standards

Start with the shots you need most often. For example:

Scene Typical use
Studio, plain backdrop, front pose E-commerce product pages
Studio, three-quarter or side pose Showing fit and silhouette
Walking or in motion Social media and video starting frames
Lifestyle location that fits your brand Campaigns and banners
Seasonal or campaign setting Launches and drops

Create each scene

  • Open Scenes and click +.
  • Under Backdrop, choose one:
    • Describe it: write the setting, light and pose in up to 800 characters, for example "Seamless warm-grey studio backdrop, soft window light from the left, standing front-on, arms relaxed".
    • From a photo: upload a reference, then choose how to use it:
      • Backdrop only: keeps only the setting. Describe the pose and placement yourself.
      • Keep the person: uses the person in the photo as the pose.
  • Click Generate, then refine with Edit until you're happy.

Keep them consistent

  • Use the same wording for light and colour as in your brand identity.
  • Name scenes clearly, for example "Studio – front – warm grey", so they're easy to pick in the Scene Library.
  • Copying your existing campaign shots? Upload them with From a photo, so your new imagery matches what you already have.

06Step 5: Try each tool

Concept · 5 min

Now put it all together. Try each tool once with your own talents, scenes and products, so you know what each one is best for.

Virtual Try-On (Clothes)

  • Open Clothes, click +, then Choose references.
  • Pick a talent from your roster, one of your standard scenes, and up to 6 garments from Products. Click Save references.
  • Add Styling notes if needed, for example "jacket worn open". Then click Generate.
  • Review the result, then click Approve or Deny.

When you're comfortable, try the Bulk tab. It dresses one talent in many garment combinations, across several scenes, in one go.

Sketch to Product

  • Open Sketch to Product and click +.
  • Upload a sketch, or pick one from the Product Library.
  • Under Details, add what the sketch can't show, such as colours, materials, fit and logo placement. Then click Generate.

The product image you get can then be worn as a garment in Virtual Try-On.

Video

  • Open Video and add an approved look as a reference image. The first image becomes the opening frame.
  • Describe the motion, for example "Model walks toward camera, cold north light".
  • Choose aspect ratio and duration, and select Keep garment true so the clothes stay accurate.
  • Generate a few takes and keep the best one.

Iris

If your plan includes Iris, it opens when you enter a workspace. Ask it to do any of the above in plain language, for example "Dress Ana in article 10234 in my studio front scene". You can also ask Iris to research a trend or analyse an Instagram account. Type "What can you do?" to see more.

Going further: Studio

Studio is a visual canvas where you connect several steps into one flow, then run them all with a single click. A flow takes your talents, products and assets, generates images, upscales or relights them, and turns them into video.

Use the regular tools for one image at a time. Use Studio when you repeat the same chain of steps, or need many variations of one shot, for example a social pack in every format.

Studio is being rolled out gradually. If you don't see Lumoo Creative → Studio in your workspace sidebar, it isn't available on your account yet. Studio needs the Images feature on your plan, and its video steps need the Video feature.

How it works

  • A canvas is one saved flow. Everyone in the workspace can open and edit it. It saves automatically, so there's no Save button.
  • A node is one step, shown as a card on the canvas.
  • A wire connects one node's output (right side) to the next node's input (left side). Images flow along the wires.
  • A package is a ready-made group of connected nodes that you can drop in and adjust.
Node What it does
Input Holds one image: an upload, a product, an asset, a talent or an earlier generation
Generate image Creates an image from a prompt. Connected images are used as references.
Upscale Enlarges one connected image for print, up to 32 MP
Lighting Applies a lighting look, such as Cinematic or Golden hour, or fine-tunes exposure and colour. It's free.
Generate video Animates one connected image, or works from a prompt alone (needs the Video feature)
Package What you get
Image variations One input in three lighting variations
Social pack One shot in 1:1, 9:16 and 4:5
E-commerce poses Front, side, back and detail shots
Generate and upscale A render enlarged for print
Image to video A still, then a clip made from it
Refine chain A render, refined in a second pass

Build your first flow

  1. In the sidebar, click Studio, then New canvas. Click the name at the top to rename it, for example "Social pack – SS27".
  2. Click + at the bottom left. On the Packages tab, choose Social pack. Or, on the Nodes tab, add nodes one at a time.
  3. In the Input node, click Talents, Products or Assets to choose your image. You can also drop in a file.
  4. Connect nodes by dragging from one node's right edge to another node's left edge. You can also click an edge to add a connected node.
  5. In each Generate image node, write a prompt and choose a model, aspect ratio and resolution.
  6. Click Run at the top. Nodes run in order, three at a time. Each card shows its status and the finished result.

To re-run part of a flow, select a node and click Run this node or Run from here. Run from here also re-runs every node after it.

Credits and results

  • The Run button shows an estimated credit total before you start. As elsewhere in Lumoo, credits are only charged for finished renders.
  • Images from Generate image are saved to your Asset Library automatically. Videos appear under Video.
  • Use Download image or View full size on any result.
  • Deleting a canvas doesn't delete the images and videos it made.

07Setup checklist

Concept · 2 min

- ☐ Brand identity written and saved (Org Admin) - ☐ One workspace for each brand or collection, with the right people added - ☐ Teammates invited, with the right roles - ☐ Product catalogue imported, with images and filter columns - ☐ Key assets uploaded to Assets or Organisation Assets - ☐ 4–8 named talents in your roster - ☐ 3–6 named standard scenes - ☐ First Virtual Try-On look generated and approved - ☐ First Sketch to Product image generated - ☐ First video clip generated - ☐ First chat with Iris (if your plan includes it)

Once everything is ticked, you're ready to produce a full collection. Use Bulk in Clothes to combine your roster, scenes and catalogue at scale.
